It is a short, simple appointment with a Certified Nurse-Midwife. No commitment to anything else, and no long wait to be seen.

What to expect
A quick, straightforward visit
- 1. Book online or call. Tell us the visit is for pregnancy confirmation and, if you know it, which program is asking for the documentation.
- 2. Testing in the office. Pregnancy testing is done at the visit, along with a brief review of your dates and symptoms.
- 3. Documentation. When the result is positive, you receive written documentation of the positive result, typically the same day.
- 4. Next steps, if you want them. If you would like prenatal care, we can talk about options. If you are going elsewhere, that is completely fine too.

The proof of pregnancy visit is $25. It includes pregnancy testing and documentation of a positive result when applicable.
Do I need to be an established patient?
No. This visit is open to anyone in the Lakeland area who needs pregnancy confirmation, and it is a low-pressure way to meet the practice.
Can I get the documentation the same day?
In most cases yes, documentation is provided at the visit once testing is complete.
Is this the same as a first prenatal visit?
No. This visit confirms and documents pregnancy. It is not a comprehensive prenatal appointment, though you are welcome to schedule prenatal care afterward if you would like it here.
What if the test is negative?
You will still be seen and we will talk through timing, next steps and whether further evaluation makes sense. Documentation of a positive result is only issued when the result is positive.
Do you take insurance for this visit?
Care is self-pay. Lakeland Birth & Gynecology is currently out-of-network with Florida Blue / Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, with in-network participation anticipated soon.
