IUDs and Nexplanon are placed and removed in the office, and pills, patches and rings can often be started or changed quickly, including by telehealth for eligible patients.

What to expect
From counseling to placement
A counseling visit covers your health history, blood pressure, migraines, clotting history, current medications, whether you want pregnancy later and how you feel about bleeding changes. From there we narrow the options honestly, including the downsides.
If you choose an IUD or Nexplanon, placement can sometimes happen the same day or be scheduled soon after, with comfort measures discussed in advance. You get clear instructions on what is normal afterward, when to call, and a follow-up plan. If a method is not working out, come back. Switching is normal, not a failure.
Contraception does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. STI testing is available at the same visit if you want it.

Which birth control method is best?
The best method is the one that fits your health history, your life and what you are willing to keep using. We go through effectiveness, side effects, bleeding patterns, how quickly fertility returns and cost, then you choose.
Can I get an IUD placed here?
Yes. Hormonal and non-hormonal IUD placement and removal are offered in the office, along with a string check or evaluation if something feels off.
Does IUD placement hurt?
Most people feel cramping during placement, and it varies quite a bit from person to person. Comfort options are discussed beforehand rather than after the fact, and you can ask to stop at any point.
Do you offer Nexplanon?
Yes, the contraceptive implant is placed and removed in the office, and it lasts several years.
Can I start birth control by telehealth?
Often yes for pills, patches and rings, for eligible patients located in Florida. Blood pressure and health history still matter, so some situations need an in-person visit first. IUDs and Nexplanon are always in-office procedures.
Can birth control help period problems?
Frequently. Several methods reduce heavy or painful periods, help with cycle-related symptoms and can be part of treating conditions like endometriosis or PCOS. Contraception is often prescribed for reasons other than preventing pregnancy.
What does it cost?
Visit and procedure fees are listed on the Services & Pricing page. Devices and medications may be billed separately by the pharmacy or supplier. Care is self-pay today, and the practice is currently out-of-network with Florida Blue / Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, with in-network participation anticipated soon.
